Centrum Babylon is what happened when a 19th-century textile factory was handed to an entrepreneur with a taste for fantasy. Since the late 1990s the old mill halls have been filled, piece by piece, with a water park, a sauna world, a funfair, a children’s science centre, a mirror maze, restaurants and a hotel — all under one roof and all linked by themed corridors.
It is unapologetically kitsch and extremely popular. If you are travelling with children and the forecast is bad, this is where the day goes.
What to see and do: Centrum Babylon
Aquapark
The heart of the complex: pools, slides, a wild river and whirlpools in a setting styled as an antique bathhouse. Entry is sold by time slot.
Sauna world and wellness
A separate adult-oriented area with saunas, steam rooms and treatments.
Lunapark
An indoor funfair with rides and games for younger children.
iQPARK
The original Liberec science playground, with hands-on exhibits for small children. Its big sister, iQLANDIA, is next door.
Everything else
A mirror labyrinth, bowling, indoor golf, a 4D cinema and more come and go — check the centre’s website for what is currently open and for combined tickets.
How to get to Centrum Babylon
- Babylon is on Nitranská street, beside iQLANDIA, about ten minutes on foot from the Fügnerova interchange and from the stations.
- The complex has its own paid car park.
- Hotel guests have direct indoor access; see where to stay.
Insider tips
- Bring swimwear and a towel; both can be rented or bought but it adds up.
- Buy a combined ticket if you plan more than one attraction.
- Weekday mornings in term time are quietest.
- Tickets are sold on site and on the centre’s website, not through GetYourGuide.
Tours that fit: Centrum Babylon
These GetYourGuide experiences pair well with Centrum Babylon:
Private walking tour from €82 per group Liberec / Reichenberg Guided Tour in English or Czech
The only bookable guided walk in the city itself, and a well-reviewed one. A local guide takes your group through the historic centre of Liberec — the town the German-speaking world knew as Reichenberg — in English or Czech. Because the price is per group rather than per person, it is excellent value for families and friends travelling together.
- The historic centre with a local guide
- Offered in English or Czech
- One price for the whole group, up to 20 people
Small-group evening trip from €365 per group Prague: Ještěd Sunset Tour – Scenic Views & Small Group
An evening escape from Prague to the mountain above Liberec, timed so that you stand under Karel Hubáček’s tower as the sun goes down over North Bohemia. It is a new listing with no reviews yet, so book it with free cancellation — but nothing else on GetYourGuide is built around Ještěd itself.
- Sunset from the 1,012 m summit of Ještěd
- Small group with pickup in Prague
- Priced per group of up to six
